— Dr. Eric Thomas

Music, Education, and Outreach are driving forces to everything Mickey does.  People all over the country are now discovering that the message and music of Mickey Smith Jr. is more than just sayings and songs.  Mickey strives to ensure that our"sound" is heard in our schools, throughout our communities and in our everyday lives. The number one factor for making better learning environments is to create greater support for arts education through community networking and involvement.  By actively engaging the community (i.e. parents, families, artists, arts organizations, businesses, local civic and cultural leaders and institutions) through performances, education, advocacy, research, and development we create what Mickey calls Music With a Mission.  Creating something that lasts well after the song is over. Since September 2015, MM2U has paired over 400 instruments with middle, high school, and college students.
